We had a milestone here at AWH and the Platz household. My daughter Bryn got her first deer on Nov. 6th, 2011. A spike buck taken in Northern Wisconsin near Florence. He was shot at 6yds with her Mathews Mustang and Muzzy Phantom broadhead. Perfect double lung and heart shot and he ran about 60 yds and fell over! What an amazing moment for Father and Daughter! I was more excited for this deer and her then I was for my P&Y buck! What a thrill for both of us. Sitting in a tree with my daughter and seeing her succeed is something I will cherish forever. Seeing her become a bowhunter words cannot describe! I have a lot of cool videos on the AWH Face Book page, so check them out.
Well the Wisconsin bow season ends officially January 31st. I tried one more time to see if anything was out there and there wasn't! Now it is time to get ready for show season. We have our first show at the end of February, the 24-26 to be exact in Green Bay at the Wisconsin Deer Classic. Come stop in and say Hi to all the AWH guys there!
Something new we are announcing at this years show is my brother Dave started his own company called "C.A.M.O Properties Services" which stands for "Care And Maintenance Of" Dave is a landscaper and has done several food plots over the years using the best food plot seed out there, AWH of course. Dave and I will be helping each other out with our businesses and along with our brother Jamie look forward to giving you a complete package for all your Whitetail needs. We are available to look at maps and give you some ideas on the best spots for food plots or bedding areas and we have all the equipment to get the job done! Feel free to call Dave at 920-912-1955 or myself at 920-627-0486.

Here is my daughter and AWH Junior Pro Staffer Bryn Platz with her first turkey taken during the youth season here in Wisconsin on April 10, 2011. It's a big jake that was gobbling and strutting when it came in! Weighed 18.5# and it has a 4.5" beard. What a great morning in the woods! Lot's of action! Plus one very proud Dad on her accomplishment! Way to go Bryn!
Here is an example of a real nice looking AWH Brassica Blast Plot from central Wisconsin.

Well beside hunting I've been checking out the local deer herd with trail cameras. I use and sell the Scout Guard camera. This is a great little camera and has worked well for us for years now. I also just received a new camera called the Ltl Acorn. I am checking it out now and if it works well I will be selling these as well. They have a longer sensing range (out to 65+ft) plus their sensors are pointed to the sides to pick up game quicker. Easy to use screen on the back of the unit. (Quick update on the Ltl Acorn camera. Great videos and pics! Easy to use. There are a couple things I would like changed or improved on them. The back screen gets covered with a foam pad so it doesn't scratch the screen. Just a pain to take off all the time. Camloc Box is making a security box for them soon and that will elimanate the pad. Battery life is ok with only 4 batteries, however less then the Scout Guard. The sensing range is very good and the offset sensors work well.)
Don't forget to get your bowhunting equipment in order like the Treehopper Pruner. Very sturdy ratchet metal pruner. Also their adjustable tree belt used to hang stands. Best one out there as far as I'm concerned! If you have any questions on any products or anything else feel free to send me an e-mail.

Well the Platz girls were successful for the last turkey season in Wisconsin in 2010. My daughter Katie was able to get her first turkey on a great shot. Bearded hen to boot! My youngest daughter Bryn also had some close opportunities and she named a couple birds that will be on next years hit list. A couple Toms put on great shows and it was just quality time with my girls. They both hunted hard and I am so proud of them. The smile will not come off of my face!

Here is a picture of Mary and her first deer. She only gets the opportunity to hunt about 3 or 4 days a year. She was using the “AWH Acorn Magic” you gave me and she said it was funny to watch the two deer that came in fight over who got to eat the acorn product.I put out some apples and covered them with your acorn product. Within 3 hours there was a 7 pointer in the back yard and by her stand. Until then I hadn’t seen a buck on the trail camera at that stand. She went out at 7:30 am and put some apples and acorn mix out and within a half hour two deer showed up and were fighting over eating the acorn mix. They would kick the apples out of the way to get at the acorn mix.
Mary says “Thank you and that stuff works awesome!”
To all of our readers out there. "Acorn Magic" is a new produt we field tested last Fall. It is a pour out bait attractant with lots of good stuff in it including crushed acorns. We are very excited about the results so far!!
